9/11 - STOP THE PRESSES

At this very moment, 8:49 am, nine years ago, I was on the NJ Turnpike heading to work at the Village Voice. Little did I know how my life, your life, and the world as we know it would change in the next few minutes. Tuesdays were "pub days" at the Voice. The events of 9/11 were so great that the publishers decided to STOP THE PRESSES and run with this cover instead.

It's interesting to note while I watched one of the buildings fall from the NJ Turnpike I wondered what Howard Stern was talking about as the events unfolded that day.  It took a few years, but I was finally able to hear his broadcast from that day.
